Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 VPC - OCS 2007 fix
February 11, 2008 16:17 by menno

As some of you might have noticed, Office Communicator 2007 was not signing in and therefor you could not show "presence information" in your demo. Mark Barrett, from Down Under, just emailed me a fix and liked the idea that I would share it with everybody on my blog.

  1. Start Your Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 VPC
  2. Click Start  / Administrative Tools / Office Communications Server 2007
  3. Click moss.litwareinc.com on the left
  4. Click the Certificates link on the right

In the next screen choose to assign an existing certificate...

then select the moss.litwareinc.com certificate.

Now click the shortcut on your desktop called "Demo VPC Service Tool" and click the second button to start the Office Communication Server 2007. After a few minutes Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 exactly knows where you are again.

Thanks for the great instructions. Is there anywhere to find how to best demo the functionality of OC when working with CRM?
