I am not sure how to start this post since I am sure that a lot of you already have read the news on many many blogs or websites. In case you haven't, Microsoft Dynamics CRM Live got re-branded into Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online.

What's in a name right? I guess it's always challenging to find a good name for your product and Microsoft doesn't have a real good reputation regarding that if you ask me. Microsoft did, however, lately come up with some good product names such as Silverlight, Popfly and Surface. Does this mean I dont like the new name? No, I don't think this is a bad name at all, but in my opinion we should of had this name all along!

Why the change? It has to do with the fact that the Microsoft Dynamics Live brand is more focused and associated with Consumers and using the "Online" brand results in alignment with our existing Exchange Online and SharePoint Online offerings that will offer great solutions for small businesses, midsized companies and large enterprises.

I am amazed by the fact that no blog or website is mentioning how frustrating this re-branding is for Partners, ISV's and Writers! However, it is good to see that Microsoft finally is making it clear for people where products fit in our Software plus Services strategy! What is your take on it? Drop a comment.
