I just got reminded via an internal email that we, since March 7, have a knowledge base article describing where you can run into and what you need to do to solve you issues when installing Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 on a Windows 2008 Server.

For the ones that are wondering if you can install Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 on a Windows 2008 server I have not so good news since this is not possible. However, you can install it in a Windows 2008 domain, as long as your server is Windows 2003 or 2000.
